Brian,
Keyboards, Vocals
Brian
brings over 20 years of experience playing keyboards and singing in various rock and
country bands. The first “real” band he joined was Mr. Tasty, from Ft. Myers, FL
where he honed his experience with influences like Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeplin, and The
Doors.
After relocating to Orlando, FL, Brian joined The Sticks & Stones Band who primarily
played classic rock and country songs. It was this band where Brian’s experience
and input would flourish. After playing with this group for over 6 years, Brian moved to
Chicago where he met various co-workers and founded the band O’Hare Outlaws.
He would play with this band for the next five years.
After returning to the South, Brian was singing karaoke in a bar one night and met up with the band 4 Bricks Shy (Snellville, GA), and played with them for a few years before taking a brief hiatus.
Once back on the scene Brian joined Drivetrain where he played over 40 live performances throughout the course of a year in several popular night clubs. Unfortunately because of "day job" schedules and personal reasons, the band dissolved in an amicable way.
Today, Brian can be heard with the newly formed band, Southern Xception featuring newer talent along side the former bass player of Drivetrain, the talented Terry Margosian. Brian is excited about the potential of this new band and looks forward to entertaining crowds with the new and classic sound of the band. As Brian said over 20 years ago, “Let’s keep it rockin!”

Terry,
Bass Guitar
Truly the "Master of Bass".
As a self-taught bass musician, who first joined the classic rock & roll band named "Kywalker" at the young age of 18, Terry would begin his career as a musical performer.
After a length of time, Terry moved on and joined a rock-metal band named "Rook" located in upstate Massena, New York. This move would further expand his genre of music and playing abilities. Once relocating to Atlanta, he joined the dance band "EFFEX" and remained there for over 2 years. Terry then went on to play with the goth band "Flowers for Lucci" for a short time, before taking a few years off from performing.
In returning to the stage,Terry began performing with Drivetrain, where he would meet Brian and form a close friendship while playing over 40 live shows, until the band went their separate ways. Terry and Brian remained together and are now heard playing in Southern Xception! Once again, Terry is entertaining both rock & roll and country crowds.
"Long live rock & roll", says Terry. Oh, and be sure to watch for his signature "jump" usually performed at every show off the stage!

Bob
Rhythm/Lead Guitar, Vocals
Bob brings almost 30 years of experience as a guitar player and singer in a diverse selection of rock and power pop bands. While Bob built his chops playing Zeppelin, Rush and Cheap Trick covers he’s moved towards playing more diverse styles inspired by players like Andy Summers, Neal Schon, Steve Stevens and Ian Crichton. Equally at home playing rock, power pop, surf or modern country Bob also enjoys singing harmonies and has even been known to sing lead on a song or two!
Bob got hooked on playing in his high school bands Mace and Apache in Indianapolis before heading to Atlanta. In college Bob couldn’t resist the urge to form Spectre, a party rock band that dominated the fraternity and club circuit at Georgia Tech and metro Atlanta. After a four year stint in California, Bob came back to Atlanta where he jammed with a variety of part time bands before spending several years playing clubs and parties with Bonehead Ted then later with QuarterLife Crisis.
After a chance audition with Southern Xception Bob’s stoked to be in the band saying, “I love the variety of music and vocals we can perform in this band. With the vocals and keyboards Brian brings and the tight rhythm section that Chris and Terry lay down we’ll have you rocking no matter what kind of music you like.”

Chris,
Drums/Percussion
Chris had his first encounter with the drums in 1986 as a teenager playing around on a friend's newly acquired "yard sale special". Soon after that, he had access to several other drum sets of friends and neighbors and found the delight of rhythm and percussion irresistible.
Finally, in 1997 a Christmas gift from his wife changed it all. For the next 8 years countless hours were spent developing skills while playing along to all his favorites - Rush, Led Zeppelin, 311, Boston and countless others. Chris found his way into public performance in 2005 where a stand-in drummer opportunity became available at his Church.
From there Chris went on to play with Circle of Noise at many well-known metro Atlanta venues and with the No Moon Band throughout 2007. After scheduling and distance brought those experiences to a close, Chris joined Brian and Terry to form Southern Xception in 2008. Chris understands the system of a group performance, acknowledging that the drummer has a responsibility to support each song with thoughtful accompaniment in order to enjoy the thrill of performance while enabling the audience to experience each musical facet of the whole band. |
